I get a lot of requests. Some involve books for a specific character, which I can answer easily enough. Some would like certain plot points clarified, or inconsistencies explained (common answer: I messed up). An index of characters for Dance of Cloaks is a pretty common one. And some just want me to know when the next book will come out. But out of all of them, nothing, and I mean nothing, tops the request for a map.
Here’s the deal. I suck at drawing maps. I mean, I really, really, really suck at drawing maps. And you’re all about to find out just how badly. I have finally given in and uploaded my own personal map. This was never intended for eyes other than my own. But you all wanted it, so here we go. Bear in mind, this is only the eastern half of Dezrel (where most of books 1-3, as well as the Shadowdance Trilogy, take place). I can’t show you the western half because, well, that sheet of paper suffered an untimely demise in the hands of my daughter and her multitude of crayons.
So here you go. Below is a condensed version, which you can click on to see the whole thing. I’ll try to get the other half done and uploaded so you can track the various progress through the books, point out where I made complete idiotic lapses in logic (you mean there was a city there when they passed by the first time??). The Ramere, Kingstrip, Northern Plains, and Hillock all make up the nation of Neldar, in case you were wondering
